The Ministry of Natural Resources became effective on March 5, 2014 with the appointment of the Director-General. There are three key departments under the Ministry; Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Department of Environment; and Niue Meteorological Services.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is responsible for the overall sustainable management and development of Niue’s natural resources, protection and conservation our resources and environment, and climate change. The work of the Ministry is cross-cutting and multi-sectoral. We value our relationship with all our stakeholders from the community and national level to the regional and international level.
All of us, working together as guardians, by protecting and preserving our natural resources for future generations and maintaining a pristine environment for a prosperous and resilient Niue.
